Destiny Moore Interview

So this post is dedicated to a fellow friend, and classmate Destiny Moore. I decided to interview her on her artwork and the processes she use. At the beginning of her art endeavor, Destiny just sketched in pencil. Then, her art teacher told her that she should eventually progress to painting. So to get to that point, he suggested she use pastel because its the step in between drawing and painting. Destiny then painted a little, but took a liking and preference to pastel.
She mainly draws portraits because she likes making artwork of people. The portraits usually only include faces, but she would like to learn how to draw figures. To create these portraits, she first draws out the person or image with oil pastel. Then, she uses a turpentine substitute to smooth out the image and remove any and all white spots. This process usually takes her a couple of hours.
Her artwork is inspired by her thoughts of pop culture and fashion design. In the future, she hope to become a fashion editor.
